LTG(R) William J. Lennox, Jr. Joins Ignite’s Board of Directors

 

 

Ignite is honored to welcome LTG(R) William J. Lennox, Jr. as a member of our Board of Directors.  Bill brings over 40 years of military and commercial experience to the Ignite family.   His wealth of insight and proven leadership will be invaluable to Ignite as we continue to grow.

General Lennox graduated from West Point in 1971 and was commissioned as an officer of Field Artillery. He later commanded at every level of the Field Artillery. General Lennox also served in numerous positions during his distinguished career, including CJ3 and Deputy Commanding General of the U.S. Eighth Army (Korea), Army’s Chief of Legislative Liaison, member of the Artillery Hall of Fame, and finally as the 56th Superintendent of United States Military Academy, a position he held until 2006.

Upon leaving USMA, Lennox served from 2006 to 2012 as a Senior Vice President at Goodrich Corporation in Washington, D.C. In this capacity he ran the company’s government relations and business development in the Nation’s Capital.

General Lennox also served on the board of Saint Leo University from 2008 to 2015 and as President of Saint Leo from 2015-2018.  He is now developing Heroes’ Mile (a program of residential facilities for veterans with drug, alcohol, and PTSD issues) with the Oglethorpe Corporation. General Lennox is on the board of Universal Technical Institute, a company providing education for auto and diesel mechanics.  He is on the board of the USO and chairs the USO Southeast Region.  He recently served on the Bipartisan Commission’s Task Force on Higher Education.

In addition to his undergraduate degree from USMA, Lennox has a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate from Princeton University, and he has completed the Senior Service College Fellowship at Harvard University. In 2012 the Association of Graduates of the United States Military Academy named General Lennox a USMA Distinguished Graduate.
